Two representatives of Vietnamese football will participate in this tournament from the Eastern region group stage. Also participating in this stage with CAHN and Nam Dinh clubs are Pohang Steelers (Korea), Beijing Guoan (China), BG Pathum United and Ratchaburi (Thailand), Macarthur (Australia).

In addition, the Eastern Zone group stage also includes Tai Po and Eastern (Hong Kong, China), Lion City Sailors and Tampines Rovers (Singapore), Kaya Iloilo (Philippines), and the winner of the play-off match between Manila Digger (Philippines) and Persib (Indonesia).

The Eastern Region group stage will run from September 17 to December 11 this year. This will be followed by the knockout stages, with the round of 16 taking place from February 11 to February 19, 2026, the quarter-finals from March 4 to March 12, 2026, and the semi-finals from April 8 to April 15. The final will take place on May 16, 2026.

Only in the final will the teams from the Eastern region face teams from the Western region of Asia.

Vietnamese football at the club level still has two more spots to participate in international tournaments next season, which is the spot to participate in the Southeast Asian C1 Cup. However, until the last day of the 2024-2025 season yesterday (June 29), VFF and VPF still have not decided on two representatives of Vietnamese football to participate in this tournament.

At the first Southeast Asian Cup C1 season 2024-2025, CAHN Club reached the final. Coach Mano Polking's team played extremely well in the above tournament.
