The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province recently issued Decision No. 1204/QD-UBND approving the document of the Humanitarian Medical Examination and Treatment Program for Children and Professional Exchange Cooperation in Quang Ngai province in 2024, with a non-refundable aid of 435 million VND, equivalent to 17,755 USD, from ReSurge International.
Implemented from mid-October 2024, the program aims to support children with congenital facial, hand and foot defects in Quang Ngai province to have the opportunity to receive free examination and treatment, helping them reduce their inferiority complex and integrate with their families and the community.

The program also supports and exchanges expertise in reconstructive and plastic surgery for about 30 doctors and nurses in the province with domestic and foreign medical volunteers invited by ReSurge International to participate in the program.
In addition, the ReSurge International team of doctors also coordinated direct professional exchanges through clinical examination, surgery and patient care with doctors, nurses of Quang Ngai Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital and doctors, nurses of domestic hospitals.
At the same time, screening will be conducted for about 100-150 children with congenital defects such as cleft lip, cleft palate, facial clefts, burn scars, ptosis, syndactyly, etc. in Quang Ngai province. ReSurge International will support accommodation and travel expenses for volunteers from the US and domestic hospital doctors; and pay all surgical costs for about 45 children in the province who will have surgery at the provincial Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.
Resurge International was founded 54 years ago, pioneering humanitarian surgical missions. Since 2011, the organization has conducted its first volunteer missions in Vietnam and performed free surgeries for thousands of children, including in Quang Ngai.
