Ternana Club in Serie C (third tier) Italy has just caused a stir in the international media with a strange story. This team fired its head coach and then reversed the decision, re-signing him after only 3 hours.
The coach who finds himself in this ironic situation is Ignazio Abate. He played more than 300 times for AC Milan and played for the Italian national team.
After retiring, Abate became a youth coach at AC Milan. He moved to Ternana in the summer of 2024, his first professional coaching role.
