On the evening of October 24, many police officers of Bao Lam district and the People's Procuracy of Bao Lam district (Lam Dong) searched the private home of Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, former Vice Chairman of Bao Lam district People's Committee in Ward 2, Bao Loc city.
Authorities' vehicles were present at Mr. Thanh's private home in Bao Loc City.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh (61 years old), former Vice Chairman of Bao Lam District People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, was retired from September 1.
Mr. Thanh is said to be involved in violations in land management regarding the land area rented by Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company in Loc Thang town (Bao Lam district, Lam Dong ) for many years.
Regarding land violations at Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company, on September 16, Lam Dong Provincial Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Ba Dong, former Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Bao Lam District; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - an officer of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Bao Lam District for investigation.
Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company is a private enterprise, headquartered in Loc Thang town (Bao Lam district), leased land in Bao Loc city and Bao Lam district with annual land lease payment.
Authorities at Mr. Thanh's house on the evening of October 24.
In 2018, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee decided to reclaim 60 hectares of land leased by Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company to hand over to local management.
Mr. Dong and Ms. Hien are officials and civil servants directly performing public duties on land management in the locality, but they have violated policies and acted illegally in advising on the issuance of land allocation decisions and granting land use right certificates, infringing on state land funds and affecting local land management.
