On August 15, Colonel Nguyen Van Thong, Chief of Staff of Kien Giang Provincial Police, signed a press release, providing specific information about the above incident.
Accordingly, at 10:30 p.m. on August 13, the authorities received a report from residents that about 150-200 young people were gathering to drink late at night, causing noise and disorder in the residential area at the restaurant "Them - Food Garden" (address A7-60, 3/2 Street, Vinh Bao Ward, Rach Gia City).
Rach Gia City Police and Vinh Bao Ward Police organized an inspection and handled the restaurant for operating past the prescribed hours, causing disorder in the residential area.
While the forces were coordinating their tasks, Mr. D.TA (39 years old, residing in Vinh Quang ward, Rach Gia city), the manager of the restaurant, used his personal Facebook account to broadcast a live clip of more than 4 minutes recording the images of 2 patrol trucks and traffic police and order police coordinating their tasks with the status line: "I have never seen such a strange thing happening at the restaurant before".
“Rach Gia City Police have worked with Mr. TA, who admitted to the violation and voluntarily removed the clip, and pledged not to re-offend. The content of the above clip violated the law, and organizations and individuals are requested not to post, share, or comment in a way that creates negative public opinion,” the press release stated.
Previously, a 4-minute clip was circulated on social media, recording the scene of police and functional forces of Rach Gia City using specialized vehicles to block both ends of a restaurant on 3/2 Street (Vinh Bao Ward). The clip quickly attracted public attention, with many comments and shares with many conflicting opinions.
