According to the published list, the first round of early elections will have the participation of 4,011 candidates, a sharp decrease compared to the total of 6,293 people in 2022. The reason is that political groups without representatives in the recently dissolved National Assembly do not have time to find candidates. The second round of elections will be held on July 7. The candidate with the most votes in the second round will win the National Assembly seat.

The results of a poll conducted by Ifop showed that an estimated 64% of voters went to the polls in the first round, much higher than the 51.5% who participated in the recent European Parliament elections and the 47.5% who participated in the first round of the 2022 legislative elections.

According to the French Institute for National and Global Markets and Opinions, President Macron's center-right party won only 20% of the vote, behind the New Popular Front coalition with 28%. The far-right National Rally party could win with 36% of the vote, equivalent to 260 - 295 seats. With this forecast, the National Rally party could gain control of the French National Assembly with 289 seats.

French President Macron has decided to hold elections after his centrist coalition lost to the right in European Parliament elections. President Macron affirmed that he will continue to carry out his duties until the end of his term in May 2027, regardless of who wins the parliamentary election.
