Ta Van has just been listed by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) of Hong Kong (China) as one of the 6 most beautiful “hilltop villages” in Asia – alongside other famous names in China, Bhutan, the Philippines and India. With its beautiful natural scenery, friendly people and efforts to preserve the cultural identity of the indigenous people, Ta Van deserves this vote.

Located 12 km from Sa Pa ward ( Lao Cai province), Ta Van is as beautiful as a picture with villages nestled next to majestic terraced fields. Ta Van (new) was merged from Muong Hoa, Hoang Lien and Ta Van communes (old). This is where the Mong and Giay ethnic groups live. Beautiful natural scenery with mountains, clouds and sky blending together. One of the most beautiful rice roads in Ta Van belongs to Lao Hang Chai village.
