Former Chairman of Bamboo Airways becomes Deputy General Director of FLC Group

According to the resolution of the Board of Directors of FLC Group Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trong holds the position of Deputy General Director from February 26.

Mr. Trong was born in 1957 and has a Master's degree in Engineering from the Aviation University in the former Soviet Union. He received advanced training in professional skills and management in the US, France, Switzerland, Australia, and Ireland. He has worked as a leader at Vietnam Airlines , Vaeco, Skypec, Nasco...

During the period when Mr. Trinh Van Quyet was Chairman of FLC, Mr. Trong helped the group establish Bamboo Airways from the very beginning and was also the first Deputy General Director of the airline since 2018. He held the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways from August 2022 to mid-2023. Currently, he is still a member of the Board of Directors of this airline.

Mr. Trong came to work as the boss at FLC in the context of recent information appearing in the market that Sacombank would hand over Bamboo Airways back to FLC. Previously, more than 1 year after the senior leader got into trouble with the law - in 2023, FLC transferred shares in Bamboo Airways to a new group of investors.

However, a senior leader of the company said that this information was incorrect because Sacombank has never owned and is only a credit partner for Bamboo Airways.

According to him, the airline is still in the process of restructuring its operations. The company also recorded positive results during the recent Tet peak period. Currently, the airline's fleet size consists of 6 aircraft, of which 6 are dry-leased and 2 are wet-leased. The airline continues to consider increasing its fleet and flight network depending on market developments.

At FLC, at the end of last year, the group reorganized its senior staff to meet the requirements of development and expansion in the new period. Ms. Bui Hai Huyen - who had been with the group for more than 12 years - returned as CEO. Mr. Vu Anh Tuan was appointed as Chairman of FLC to replace Mr. Le Ba Nguyen.

The group is aiming to restart and promote a series of key projects and is making efforts to resolve financial and legal issues to ensure its obligations to customers, shareholders, and partners.

FLC is a corporation operating in many fields such as real estate, resort tourism, financial investment, aviation. This enterprise has implemented a number of resort complexes and hotels in Quy Nhon, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc , Quang Ninh. This year, they plan to have real estate revenue of about 1,200 billion VND to have resources to execute projects as committed.
