According to former MP Marcek, the signature collection for the new party has been going on for about 7 months and has collected 8,000 signatures, with 2,000 more needed. The politician believes that by the end of the year, all the necessary paperwork will be ready and the party will be officially registered in early January 2024.

The party's agenda includes joining BRICS, nationalizing strategically important enterprises, banning the sale of land and forests, and taking control of the health care system, health insurance, and education .

Mr Marcek hopes that other Slavic parties will be formed in Slavic countries to "defend the interests of the Slavic people in world politics". Negotiations on the formation of the party are underway with politicians in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Bulgaria, Poland and Ukraine.

Since the outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict in 2022, Slovakia has actively supported Kiev, and agreed to transfer a squadron of MiG-29 fighter jets to Kiev, and donate S-300 air defense systems to Ukraine.

However, Slovakia's new Prime Minister Robert Fico has promised to change the country's political course. He has said he will not support EU sanctions against Russia if they harm his country. Mr Fico has also pledged not to send weapons to Ukraine if his Smer party joins the government.
