Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger passes away

According to AP, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger passed away on November 29, at the age of 100. His consulting firm, Kissinger Associates, said Kissinger passed away at his home in Connecticut.

Henry Kissinger was an unusually influential figure in global affairs under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. His power grew during the Watergate turmoil, when the diplomat assumed a co-presidential role as the ailing Nixon prepared to resign.

After leaving the US government , he founded the consulting firm Kissinger Associates, becoming an expert in providing strategic advice to corporations, governments and the public. At the age of 99, he still travels widely and writes books.
