Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Van Tuan presents credentials to the King of Sweden

On September 6, at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Sweden Tran Van Tuan presented his credentials to the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf.

On September 6, at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Sweden Tran Van Tuan presented his credentials to the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf, officially beginning his term of office in this country. Ambassador Tran Van Tuan is the first foreign ambassador to receive his credentials from the Swedish King after the summer vacation of 2023.

At the Credentials Presentation Ceremony, King Carl XVI Gustaf shared the good feelings of the Swedish Royal Family and himself towards the country and people of Vietnam. The Ambassador reviewed the important milestones of cooperation between the two countries, especially Sweden's assistance to Vietnam in building the Bai Bang Paper Mill in the 1970s, expressing the King's good impressions during his visit to Vietnam in 2004.

King Carl XVI Gustaf said that the traditional friendship between the two countries has a history of nearly 55 years and hopes to work with Vietnam to develop the bilateral relationship even better in the coming time.

Ambassador Tran Van Tuan expressed his honor to be appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Sweden; sincerely thanked Sweden for its valuable and effective support and assistance to the country and people of Vietnam.

The Ambassador emphasized that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to develop friendly relations and multi-faceted cooperation with Sweden, in politics , economy, culture, science, education, etc., especially in areas where Sweden has strengths and Vietnam has needs such as green transformation, digital transformation, sustainable development, climate change response, and environmental protection.

Ambassador Tran Van Tuan affirmed that he will do his best to contribute to further promoting the traditional friendship and equal, mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the coming time, including the hope of coordinating with the Swedish side to organize many practical activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2024.
