List of players preparing for Asiad 19; Huynh Nhu negotiates to extend Lank FC contract

Striker Huynh Nhu may be absent from the Vietnamese women's team attending the 19th Asian Games taking place in China next September due to the unresolved contract issue with Lank FC.

According to information from VFF, striker Huynh Nhu is in the process of completing a contract with Lank Vilaverdense Club, so whether this striker will join the training camp and compete with the Vietnamese women's team at the 19th Asiad will be confirmed after reaching an agreement with the host club.

For her part, Huynh Nhu said that after the 2023 World Cup ended, she went to Hanoi instead of Ho Chi Minh City to prepare some procedures to return to Portugal to negotiate with Lank.

Lank's leadership wants to extend the contract with the Vietnamese female player, however, the two sides need to agree on important terms, especially the issue of salary or being able to return home to attend the 19th Asiad.

After a year wearing the Lank shirt, Huynh Nhu made her mark with 7 goals. She is also the only representative of the Portuguese team participating in the 2023 Women's World Cup.

Also on August 9, coach Mai Duc Chung announced the list of players for the Vietnamese women's team.

In this training session, coach Mai Duc Chung added many young faces such as Nguyen Thi Hoa, Pham Thi Lan Anh (Hanoi); Tran Thi Duyen, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh ( Ha Nam ), increasing the number of players born after 2000 of the Vietnamese women's team to 11 players (out of a total of 25 players summoned).

Calling these players up to join the national team is part of the plan to train the next generation for the Vietnamese women's team, preparing for future goals.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will gather at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from August 10-19. After that, the team will have a training trip in Hai Phong before returning to Hanoi to prepare for their trip to China.

At the 19th Asian Games, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group D with Japan, Nepal and Bangladesh. The group stage matches of the Vietnamese women's team will take place from September 22-28 at Wenzhou Olympic Stadium, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China.
