Love for disabled children

Việt NamViệt Nam23/10/2024

In this class, parents shed tears when they saw their children stand up, walk and call out to each other for the first time. They had waited too long to see this happiness. Many children who were bedridden, with the patient support of teacher Phung, gradually recovered.

At the tournament within the professional mixed martial arts (MMA) system LION Championship that just took place, martial artist Lo Thi Phung made an impression when appearing in Thai ethnic costume.

“I am always proud of being Thai. I want to convey the message of the strength and rise of ethnic minority women,” Lo Thi Phung explained why she chose the traditional Thai dress when appearing in the confrontation before going on stage.

Lo Thi Phung was born in 1998, originally from Lai Chau. She graduated from the College of Preschool Education and was a preschool teacher before coming to sports .

Three years ago, Lo Thi Phung packed her bags and went to Ho Chi Minh City to practice Jujitsu. After only a short time of training, with her natural martial arts talent, Phung competed for the Dong Nai team and continuously achieved high results.

Since the beginning of the year, this female boxer has won the Gold medal at the Club Cup in Can Tho , the Gold medal at the Southeast Asian Championship, the Gold medal at the 2024 National Championship...

Stepping out of the ring, Lo Thi Phung became a teacher, actively participating in charity activities, helping people in difficult circumstances, and participating in activities to spread the spirit of sports in the community.

One of Phung's meaningful activities is participating in the project of coach Le Hoang Mai, who has been implementing projects for many years to support and rehabilitate children with paralysis, motor disabilities, and cognitive delays.

The fathers and mothers whose children participated in Mr. Le Hoang Mai’s project called this “a class of love and happiness”. In this class, the parents shed tears when they saw their children stand up, walk and call out for their father and mother for the first time.

They had to wait too long to see this happiness. Many children from just lying in one place, with the persistent companionship of teacher Phung, gradually recovered.

“It is really difficult for children with mobility difficulties and poor cognitive abilities to stand up on their own. Therefore, I always want to do something for these children,” Lo Thi Phung shared.
