According to VNA Special Envoy, on the afternoon of September 22 (local time), during his working trip to attend the High-level Week of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, General Secretary and President To Lam had a meeting with Mr. Brendan Nelson - President of Boeing Global, the world's largest aviation corporation.

Appreciating Boeing's business achievements as well as its cooperation and support with Vietnam in recent times, especially its cooperation with Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet, etc., General Secretary and President To Lam also expressed his thanks and acknowledged Boeing's commitments to supporting Vietnam in developing its aviation and aerospace industrial ecosystem in the coming time.

Highlighting that the Vietnam-US relationship continues to develop well, especially when the two countries have just upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that the Party, State and People of Vietnam are committed to creating all favorable conditions, in accordance with the provisions of law, for US investors in general and the Boeing Group in particular to invest and do business effectively and sustainably in Vietnam.

In this spirit, General Secretary and President To Lam suggested that Boeing continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese partners to complete and transfer aircraft purchase orders signed in the past time, in particular, Boeing should soon research and invest in component manufacturing factories, build regional aircraft equipment and machinery maintenance centers associated with major airports in Vietnam; at the same time, strengthen cooperation, support human resource training, cooperate in the field of research and development (R&D), technology transfer, and bring Vietnamese partners deeper into Boeing's supply chain.

With sincere thanks to General Secretary and President To Lam for taking the time to receive him, Mr. Brendan Nelson highlighted Boeing's effective cooperation and support for Vietnamese airlines in the process of operating aircraft and aviation services.

Expressing his appreciation for the vision and viewpoint of General Secretary and President To Lam on the importance of aviation economy in supporting Vietnam's socio-economic development, Mr. Brendan Nelson also discussed Boeing's strategy and cooperation commitments with Vietnam in the coming time so that more and more people can use aviation services.

Mr. Brendan Nelson reaffirmed that Boeing Corporation has had many meetings with the leaders of Vietnam Airlines to provide financial support, find solutions to both immediate and long-term difficulties, and is determined to complete the contract signed by the two sides during US President Joe Biden's visit to Vietnam last year in 2028. He also said that the development of the aviation industry will open up many new opportunities for the country and people of Vietnam.

Mr. Brendan Nelson committed that Boeing will support the construction of an aviation ecosystem in Vietnam in the coming time, focusing on building aviation infrastructure, training human resources, building airports, and aircraft repair and maintenance facilities./.
