Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai recently worked with Hai Trieu Company Limited to hear a report on the proposed investment in a project of a seafood processing ship at sea. Attending were leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and localities.
Hai Trieu Company Limited is currently operating in the field of processing and exporting frozen and dried seafood in Phan Thiet Industrial Park. In 2024, the company's export turnover will reach over 50 million USD, providing high-quality products to many international markets, creating jobs for more than 700 workers annually. In order to improve production efficiency, increase the value of exported seafood products and export turnover of Binh Thuan province in the coming time, Hai Trieu Company Limited wishes to invest in a project of seafood processing ships at sea.
The goal of the project of seafood processing ships at sea is to improve the quality of preserving and processing seafood directly at sea; increase the value of seafood exports, contributing to promoting the socio -economic development of the locality. Accordingly, in phase 1, Hai Trieu Company Limited focuses on improving the quality of preserving and processing seafood directly at sea with an output of 960 tons/year, seafood products are dried anchovies, high-quality dried shrimp. In phase 2, Hai Trieu Company Limited will build an additional high-tech product classification area, packaging at the factory. The total investment capital of the project is 110 billion VND.
A representative of Hai Trieu Company Limited said that after the competent authorities approved the investment policy, the company will purchase and import modern seafood processing ships from abroad, register to operate in the Binh Thuan sea area; invest in modern machinery and equipment at the factory to serve the activities of classification, packaging and export. The scale of the ship purchasing and processing seafood at sea is more than 60 m long, 14 m wide, 5 m high; total tonnage is nearly 2,500 tons, cargo tonnage is 887 tons; ship capacity is 600 CV; processing capacity is 12 tons/day of raw anchovies or shrimp.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai agreed in principle to allow Hai Trieu Company Limited to implement the project of seafood processing ships at sea. At the same time, he requested Hai Trieu Company Limited to carefully study the legal provisions on investment registration procedures and work with relevant partners to purchase seafood processing ships for the locality. At the same time, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai also requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to provide information and support Hai Trieu Company Limited to carry out procedures on investment registration, procedures for importing ships and equipment, procedures for registering ships... in accordance with the provisions of law.
