2G phone users can easily switch to mobile devices that support 4G waves or higher with the new policy of Di Dong Viet and MobiFone .

It is expected that in 2024, 2G waves will be officially terminated, mobile devices using this type of network will also become ineffective, unable to make or receive calls. However, up to now, there are still many people using 2G and 3G phones, most of them are elderly people and manual workers.
To help these users easily switch to smart mobile devices supporting 4G and 5G networks, Di Dong Viet and MobiFone have launched a combined incentive package at the cooperation signing ceremony on August 23. Specifically, MobiFone customers using 2G phones can upgrade to 4G phones at Di Dong Viet under the "Non-profit" program with a preferential package of free internet access for 90 days (2GB/day), applicable in the Ho Chi Minh City area.
“We expect to contribute to promoting the national digital transformation, from devices using 2G and 3G networks to 4G and 5G networks. All users will have access to the latest technologies, no one will be left behind in this digital transformation,” said Mr. Dai Thang, Director of Product Development of Mobile World.
On MobiFone's side, this network operator has also planned to turn off 2G and 3G networks in 2024 to reserve resources to develop 4G and 5G networks. Bringing customers internet experiences with stronger, faster and more secure network speeds. "Cooperating with Mobile World, one of the largest technology retailers in Vietnam, will contribute to promoting our 2G and 3G network shutdown process, when users can easily switch to 4G and 5G mobile devices," said a MobiFone representative.
