The last 'white night' with referee Tran Dinh Thinh, VFF changes training time

On the morning of August 5, representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) visited and expressed condolences to the family of referee Tran Dinh Thinh in his hometown of Dong Nai.

On this occasion, the leaders of the two units also encouraged the family and relatives of referee Tran Dinh Thinh, expressing deep sympathy for this great loss.

At the funeral, representatives of VFF and VPF offered incense to pay their respects to referee Tran Dinh Thinh, expressing their deep sorrow at the sudden passing of a dedicated referee who had devoted many years to Vietnamese football. VFF and VPF also sent their sincere condolences to the family and pledged to continue to accompany and support the family through this difficult period.

Colleagues will see referee Tran Dinh Thinh off on his final journey, VFF adjusts training time

Referee Tran Dinh Thinh, born in 1982 in Dong Nai, started his refereeing career in national tournaments in 2010 and was recognized as a FIFA referee in 2019. With many years of experience, he is one of the prestigious referees in national professional tournaments, honored with the title "Silver Whistle" in the 2024-2025 V-League season. Referee Tran Dinh Thinh passed away unexpectedly on August 3 after participating in a physical test at a referee training program to prepare for the new season.

To show gratitude for his contributions, VFF and VPF organized the entire funeral and decided to provide financial support to the family to share some of the burden. Hopefully, this love and support will help the family and relatives of referee Tran Dinh Thinh ease the pain.

On the evening of August 6, a 16-seat car will take about 15 referees and supervisors to Dinh Quan to bid farewell to referee Tran Dinh Thinh. The training course was supposed to end on August 7, but all colleagues wanted to see referee Thinh off to his final resting place, so VFF decided to adjust the time. The training course will last until 9 p.m. tonight (August 5) and will end at 2 p.m. tomorrow, and the referees and supervisors will move to Dong Nai. They want to have one last night with their respected colleague before saying goodbye.

At 6am on August 7, another 16-seat car will pick up Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi - former General Secretary of VFF, along with representatives of the standing committee, supervisors and head referees, to go to Dinh Quan to bid farewell to referee Tran Dinh Thinh to his final resting place.

The presence of colleagues and sports leaders is not only to share the great loss but also to demonstrate respect for the contributions that referee Tran Dinh Thinh has made to Vietnamese football. When he was alive, referee Tran Dinh Thinh was a diligent, dedicated, generous and kind person. When he passed away, those qualities of his will forever be a beautiful image in the hearts of colleagues and football lovers.
