Recently, Tocepo Trading and Service Company Limited (investor) announced that it will collect entrance fees to Hon Kho tourist site from August 4, 2025 at VND 80,000/person/trip, including VAT and accompanying services such as insurance, guide, sun umbrella, shower, cleaning, infrastructure maintenance for tourists... Children under 0.75m are free.
This announcement has received mixed reactions from locals and tourists. Many opinions say that Hon Kho is a natural beauty spot, if it is handed over to a business to manage, there needs to be a harmonious price policy, incentives for local people, ensuring access to community marine space.

Many people believe that businesses need to collect entrance fees to reinvest, but the ticket price of 80,000 VND/trip is too high compared to reality. The infrastructure at Hon Kho is still simple, lacking amenities, and has no highlights or outstanding tourism products.

According to the opinions of community tourism businesses on the edge of Hon Kho island, if businesses only focus on collecting fees and ignore investing in content and experiences, it will easily create a bad precedent, affecting the image of local tourism.
A representative of the management unit of Hon Kho tourist site said that before applying the fee of 80,000 VND/trip, the unit had consulted ticket prices at other tourist sites.
This person explained that due to direct investment on the island, construction and operating costs are much higher than on the mainland. In addition, the tourism exploitation period mainly lasts only 6 months, so this price is considered to maintain operations and offset investment costs.

“Currently, we have spent tens of billions of dong to invest in infrastructure, including electricity, water, telecommunications, pier systems, beach club buildings, shower systems, etc.,” added the leader of Tocepo Trading and Service Company Limited.

Speaking to SGGP Newspaper, a leader of the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong Ward ( Gia Lai Province) said that the government cannot intervene in the fee levels implemented by businesses at Hon Kho tourist site. However, if the fee is too high, the locality will check and re-evaluate the service to see if it is suitable for tourism development orientation or not.
“In the near future, we will work specifically with the management and exploitation enterprises at Hon Kho tourist site. Thereby, we will also ask investors for information about the items they have invested in, on that basis, we will re-evaluate the infrastructure and services to compare with the fees they offer,” added the leader of Quy Nhon Dong Ward People's Committee.
It is known that the Hon Kho tourist site project was established in 2015, and has gone through many problems and shortcomings during the investment process. There was a time when local people complained about overlapping livelihoods in the water surface area that the province licensed for the project on Hon Kho island.
