Phuoc Dinh commune was established on the basis of merging Phuoc Dinh commune, An Hai commune and Phu Tho village of the old Phan Rang - Thap Cham city. After the merger, the commune has an area of 15,397 hectares, with a population of 32,137 people. In the 2020 - 2025 term, in addition to maintaining political - social stability, security - national defense, Party building, a clean and strong political system, Phuoc Dinh commune has many positive changes in economic development. In particular, the industrial and construction sectors have made a breakthrough development thanks to effectively exploiting the advantages of renewable energy. A series of large projects such as: Bau Ngu Lake Solar Power, Nui Mot Lake, Gelex , Mui Dinh Wind Power... have come into operation, raising the total electricity production of the whole commune to about 338 million kWh/year, bringing in revenue of more than 242 billion VND/year. The granite mining and processing industry and construction materials also bring in a good source of income, contributing to growth and creating stable jobs for local people.

Along with that, the output of aquatic breeds and aquaculture increased quite well, accounting for 63.46% of the total production value, equivalent to 950 billion VND. High-tech agricultural models such as Tien Tien Farm, Seagull ADC Ninh Thuan are gradually affirming their quality and competitiveness. Local people have converted many traditional crops to high-value crops such as apples, asparagus, aloe vera, melons, etc. Notably, An Hai and Son Hai areas have been planned and are continuing to call for investment to expand into a quality aquatic breed production area of the region and the whole country. The immediate goal is to reach a production scale of more than 12 billion shrimp breeds by the end of 2025. The trade and service sector currently accounts for about 6.5%, with a revenue of about 97 billion VND, which is considered a sector with much room for exploitation, contributing to the economic development of Phuoc Dinh commune in the coming time.

Exploiting development space from existing potential
Comrade Tran Ngoc Binh - Chairman of Phuoc Dinh Commune People's Committee said: "After the merger, Phuoc Dinh commune has all favorable conditions in terms of geographical location, climate and resources to strongly develop marine economy, clean energy and high-tech agriculture, becoming the three main pillars in the local economic development orientation".
Phuoc Dinh currently has a synchronously invested traffic infrastructure system, connecting with all important traffic axes, and is located near Ca Na General Seaport with the capacity to receive ships of 300,000 tons, facilitating inter-regional connections, serving the development process. In the southern region of Khanh Hoa province, Phuoc Dinh has become one of two localities with a coastline of over 35km with many beautiful beaches such as: Mui Dinh, Bai Trang, Bai Da Trung... and a semi-mountainous ecosystem with long sand dunes embracing coastal road 701..., rich in potential for developing fishing, aquaculture and attracting large-scale coastal tourism and urban projects.

In particular, Phuoc Dinh has great potential to develop renewable energy with onshore and offshore solar and wind power projects. The policy of building Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant in Vinh Truong village will attract large investment capital, creating motivation to continue to improve the infrastructure system, especially traffic infrastructure; creating jobs for local people. The project will contribute to strongly promoting the development of supporting economic sectors, creating demand for accommodation, services and urban infrastructure...
Towards becoming a key economic development commune
Currently, in addition to important projects being implemented such as: Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant, Cap Padaran Mui Dinh Tourist Area, Royal Resort, Mui Dinh Bay Tourist Area..., the commune is calling for investment in the following projects: An Hai new rural residential area, Bau Ngu lake wind power, 809MW nearshore wind power, An Hai - Son Hai high-tech shrimp breeding area, Mui Dinh Resort, high-end tourist area in the Egg Rock area and urban and tourism development projects in subdivisions 2 and 3 along the northern coast of the commune.

- Regarding Party building and the political system: The commune Party Committee is annually classified as having fulfilled its tasks well or better; annually, over 90% of Party organizations and Party members are evaluated and classified as having fulfilled their tasks well or better; the rate of new Party members admitted annually is 3% or more of the total number of Party members; annually, there is at least 1 effective model in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.
- Regarding economy: The average annual growth rate of total product value in the area is 16%; total state budget revenue increases by an average of 20% annually; by 2030, the proportion of industry, construction and services in the total product value in the area will reach 90%; total social investment capital in the area will reach 15,000 billion VND, an average annual increase of about 25%; average income per capita will increase by an average of 15% annually; the annual disbursement rate of public investment capital strives to reach 100% of the assigned capital plan.
- Regarding society: The rate of poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard decreases by an average of 0.5 - 1% annually, to below 0.6% by 2030; the annual unemployment rate is below 3%; the rate of online public service use by people and businesses reaches over 85%; the level of satisfaction of people and businesses with the government increases by 5% compared to the beginning of the term.
