At the meeting, Head of the Central Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians' Group Le Minh Hung was pleased to see that the Vietnam-Japan relationship has developed substantially, effectively and comprehensively in many areas, with increasing political trust, and exchanges and contacts at high and all levels. Japan continues to be Vietnam's leading economic partner, the number one partner in ODA and labor, the third in investment and tourism, and the fourth in trade. Local cooperation, culture, human resource connection and people-to-people exchange between the two countries are increasingly close and effective.
Mr. Le Minh Hung assessed that the successful visit of Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his wife last April opened up many new opportunities between the two countries, especially in science and technology, through research cooperation, training of high-quality human resources, high-tech investment in the fields of agriculture , green transformation, energy transformation, innovation, etc.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki sincerely thanked Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung for taking the time to meet him. On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed his condolences to the Party, State and People of Vietnam for the losses caused by the ship capsize in Ha Long Bay and the recent floods and natural disasters in Nghe An, Son La and Dien Bien .
Appreciating and congratulating Vietnam on the initial results of the revolution to streamline the political system and reorganize provincial administrative units, the Japanese Ambassador believes that this revolution will help Vietnam remove barriers to create momentum for rapid and sustainable development in the coming period.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed directions for enhancing cooperation in all areas, including economy - trade, defense - security, science - technology, energy, high-tech agriculture, training of strategic-level officials, culture, and people-to-people exchange. The two sides also agreed to increase exchanges between the two Friendship Parliamentary Groups in flexible and diverse forms, thereby promoting relations between the two legislative bodies, making practical contributions to strengthening relations between Vietnam and Japan.
Head of the Central Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians' Group Le Minh Hung emphasized that Vietnam is in the process of strong reform and is determined to realize the two 100-year goals set by the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and hopes that countries, including Japan, will continue to accompany Vietnam on the path of development ahead.
The Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam affirmed that Japan wishes and is ready to accompany Vietnam in its development process in the coming time and that the Ambassador personally will do his best to contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
