Dliê Ya Commune resolutely handles illegal mineral exploitation

Recently, people in Tan Hiep village and Dliê Ya B hamlet (Dliê Ya commune, Dak Lak province) have repeatedly reported the situation of some strangers coming to the locality to illegally mine and transport stone, which has been going on openly and for a long time but has not been thoroughly inspected and handled.

These activities not only damage natural resources, affect the landscape and environment, but also pose many potential risks to traffic safety, security and order, and cause loss of mineral resources.

Faced with the above situation, right from the first days of transitioning to a two-level local government model, Dlie Ya commune clearly demonstrated its determination to rectify this situation. Accordingly, the People's Committee of the commune issued Decision No. 18/QD-UBND dated July 14, 2025 and Decision No. 49/QD-UBND dated July 28, 2025 to establish an Inspection Team to inspect law enforcement in the field of land and mineral exploitation throughout the commune.

The inspection team had the participation of representatives of the Commune People's Committee, Commune Police, Commune Economic Department and security and order forces at the grassroots level in villages and hamlets - demonstrating the spirit of synchronous and drastic participation.

A truck carrying illegal rocks was discovered by authorities.

At about 10:19 a.m. on August 2, 2025, during a planned patrol and inspection, the functional forces of Dlie Ya commune discovered two trucks with signs of violating traffic safety laws traveling on the road in Tan Hiep village (Dlie Ya commune), so they signaled to stop the vehicles for administrative inspection.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that the two vehicles were carrying approximately 28.3m³ of monolithic stone suspected to be of illegal mining origin. However, after stopping the vehicles, the two young men driving the vehicles did not cooperate with the authorities and left the scene without permission, leaving behind the entire vehicle and evidence of the violation.

The authorities brought the seized vehicle to the headquarters of the People's Committee of Dlie Ya commune for handling according to regulations.

Immediately afterwards, all vehicles and exhibits were sealed and transferred to the commune People's Committee headquarters to serve the verification and handling work according to legal regulations.

Previously, at around 11:30 a.m. on July 25, 2025, on a traffic route in Dliê Ya B village, Dliê Ya commune authorities discovered a truck with license plate number 47H-023.14 driven by Dang L. (born in 2000, residing in Tan Thanh village, Dliê Ya commune, Dak Lak province) carrying more than 4m3 of stone.

Upon inspection, driver L. could not present invoices, documents or mineral exploitation licenses issued by competent authorities.

The timely detection, temporary detention of vehicles, protection of evidence and subsequent verification steps demonstrate the proactive role and high sense of responsibility of commune-level authorities, in the context of the two-level local government model just coming into operation.

This is not only about handling individual violations but also a clear message about the strictness of the law and innovation in state management and administration at the grassroots level.

In the coming time, Dliê Ya commune will continue to direct relevant agencies and units to strengthen inspections and coordinate with functional forces to thoroughly prevent violations in illegal mining and transportation of minerals; at the same time, call on people to actively participate in monitoring and denouncing violations to protect the environment, resources and security and order in the locality.
