On July 21, according to information from Can Tho University , the school's Admissions Council has just announced the threshold score to ensure the quality of regular university entrance (floor score) for the admission method based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam.
Accordingly, the minimum score of Can Tho University ranges from 15 to 19. Of the total 109 majors, 39 majors have a minimum score of 15, and 14 majors have a minimum score of 19. Majors with the highest minimum score (19) belong to the teacher training group, such as: education (preschool, primary, civics), pedagogy (math, information technology, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, history, geography, English, French, natural sciences). Also in this group, but the physical education major only takes 18 points.

In 2024, Can Tho University plans to enroll more than 10,000 students. The school notes that for candidates majoring in preschool education, the preschool education aptitude test must be 5 points or higher and the total score of the 2 high school graduation exam subjects (plus priority points) multiplied by 2/3 must be 12.67 points or higher. For physical education, candidates taking the sports aptitude test must be 5 points or higher and the total score of the 2 high school graduation exam subjects (plus priority points) multiplied by 2/3 must be 12 points or higher.
Medicine and dentistry are the two majors with the highest minimum scores at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy with 22.5 points.
At Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy , the minimum score for 11 regular university majors (first batch) in 2024 ranges from 19 to 22.5 points. There are 7 majors with the lowest minimum score (19 points), including: preventive medicine, nursing, midwifery, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, public health, and biomedical engineering. Among the majors, medicine and dentistry have the highest minimum score of 22.5 points; while traditional medicine and pharmacy have a minimum score of 21.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Principal of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the minimum score for the first round of admission includes regional priority points and priority subjects as stipulated in the current university admission regulations. If candidates have the same admission score, the school will prioritize the math subject from high to low according to the quota. The school also does not use the reserve in the high school graduation exam for admission.
