Hot developments related to the investor of O Island tourist area

(NLDO) - The investor of the O - Dong Truong island tourist area was further fined by Dong Nai province for two violations.

On March 30, the Chief Inspector of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai province issued a decision to impose administrative sanctions on Cuong Thuan IDICO Development Investment Joint Stock Company (Cuong Thuan IDICO Company, headquartered in Bien Hoa City).

Specifically, the Inspectorate of the Department of Agriculture and Environment issued a decision to impose an administrative fine of VND 45 million on Cuong Thuan IDICO Company for two violations.

In which, the first act was by Cuong Thuan IDICO Company exploiting and using underground water for business and service activities with a flow rate of over 10m3/day and night to under 30m3/day and night without a license as prescribed.

Specifically, the O-Dong Truong Island Tourism Center of Cuong Thuan IDICO Company exploited groundwater from 2 wells for restaurant operations, guest activities and public restrooms with the highest flow rate of 28m3/day and night on March 11, 2024 at O Island and Dong Truong Island (according to the company's report) without a license as prescribed.

Second, Cuong Thuan IDICO Company exploited and used surface water resources for business and service activities with a flow rate of over 100m3/day and night to under 1,000m3/day and night without a license as prescribed.

Accordingly, the Dong Truong Island Tourism Center of Cuong Thuan IDICO Company exploited surface water for irrigation with the highest flow rate of 150m3/day and night on April 20, 2024 at Dong Truong Island and O Island (according to the company's report) without a license as prescribed.

Previously, the Provincial People's Committee also issued 2 decisions to sanction administrative violations in the field of environment and land against Cuong Thuan IDICO Company with a total fine of more than 1.7 billion VND. Currently, Cuong Thuan IDICO Company is dismantling construction works violating land and environment regulations on O Island, Dong Truong Island in Ma Da Commune and the restaurant land in Vinh An Town, Vinh Cuu District.

After the relocation is completed, the Provincial Land Fund Development Center will develop a plan to auction the above land plots.
