Degree is just the foundation, attitude makes the difference
The 4th Career and Employment Fair 2025 organized by Saigon University on August 2 had the participation of more than 50 businesses, offering more than 1,000 recruitment and internship positions for students.

In recruitment areas, business representatives all affirmed that today's students have many advantages in terms of dynamism and adaptability, but to increase their chances of being recruited, attitude and soft skills are factors highly valued by employers.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, representative of SSI Securities Corporation, Nguyen Cong Tru branch, said: “We expect candidates to graduate with the right major, have a quick attitude and solid expertise. During the working process, the company will continue to accompany you to help you improve your knowledge and skills.”
This message was further emphasized by Ms. Vo Thi Diem Kieu, representative of Asia Environmental Production, Trade and Service Company Limited. She frankly shared: “We do not require excellent qualifications, professional knowledge is required at a basic level to meet the job requirements. In particular, we expect your working attitude to be positive and proactive.”

According to Ms. Diem Kieu, the salary at the company is not fixed but depends on the professional capacity and actual contribution of each employee. In addition, employees will have a clear promotion path and receive professional training throughout their working process.
Also at the festival, from Golden Asian Media Joint Stock Company, Ms. Le Hoang Uyen Phuong said that job applicants at the company will have requirements and benefits depending on each department.
“The company is very supportive of those who want to work at the company with many attractive benefits. In general, the salary in all departments is not less than 10 million VND/month. Internship positions also have their own support and will be discussed specifically during the interview,” said Ms. Uyen Phuong.
Opportunities come with challenges: Students' concerns
Faced with many job opportunities and competitive salaries, students are both excited to seek opportunities and inevitably worried.
Hoang Phuong Lam (20 years old), a student majoring in finance and banking, shared her excitement at meeting many businesses and looking for job opportunities. However, due to her lack of experience, Lam still encountered difficulties when applying.
“Today, I participated in a mock interview and received enthusiastic advice. Hopefully, I can apply it to get a job in the future,” Lam said.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Nguyen Chuong (21 years old), an information technology student, said that in the past, the information technology field only required basic skills to start an internship, but as artificial intelligence develops, businesses now require more skills, so competition has increased.
“This is also a challenge for candidates, especially new graduates like me,” Nguyen Chuong confirmed.
With more than 1,000 job and internship opportunities, the fair is a bridge to help businesses approach students, while helping them grasp the actual requirements of the labor market.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity for businesses to seek potential employees, share recruitment expectations and contribute to the development of the city's young human resources.
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Hoang Quan, President of Saigon University, emphasized the importance of equipping adaptive skills in the context of rapid development of technology, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
He hopes that students will take full advantage of the opportunity of the fair to find a job environment that suits their abilities and passions, and at the same time apply the knowledge and skills trained by the school to contribute to the development of businesses.
