On the evening of November 15, in Can Tho City, the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival officially concluded with a closing and award ceremony.
The 2024 National Cai Luong Festival is chaired by the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), in coordination with the Vietnam Stage Artists Association and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City from October 25 to November 15.
The festival has the participation of more than 1,200 artists and actors from professional art units, bringing more than 30 unique cai luong plays.
At the end of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 4 gold medals and 8 silver medals to the plays; 41 gold medals and 63 silver medals to outstanding artists and actors.
The Cai Luong play of Quang Ninh Art Troupe participating in the Festival is called “Where the Dawn Calls” by author Le Chi Trung, adapted by Meritorious Artist Ngoc Chi and Meritorious Artist Pham Ngoc Duong, directed by People’s Artist Hoang Quynh Mai, music by People’s Artist Hoang Anh Tu. The play aims to promote the image of nature, people and culture of Quang Ninh, contributing to stimulating tourism and developing the province’s socio-economy. The play of Quang Ninh Troupe was awarded a silver medal.
Regarding individual awards, Meritorious Artist Huong Sen was awarded a gold medal for her role as Kim Chan Mi, artists Pham Van Ngoc (as Mr. Van), Duy Hung (as Hee Jung), and Nguyen Thi Thuy (as Yeong) were awarded silver medals; and artist Nguyen Dang Khoa was awarded the award for excellent musician.
