Tho Xuan Duong originated from Tho Am village, Lien Ninh commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi . The family had 3 royal physicians: Mr. Phung Van Duong - a famous talented physician in the capital and was recruited by the Le Dynasty to practice medicine at Te Sinh Duong - Thai Y Vien in 1653, Mr. Phung Van Dong - Deputy Lang and Royal Physician at Thai Y Vien and Mr. Phung Van Con - Deputy Royal Physician of the Court.

To date, the pharmacy has reached 370 years old and has 17 generations of successors. Dr., Traditional Medicine Practitioner Phung Tuan Giang is currently the head of the pharmacy.
With a reputation affirmed over nearly 4 centuries, the pharmacy is the place to entrust the lives of hundreds of thousands of domestic and foreign patients when they encounter diseases of bones and joints, kidney - urinary, liver and gallbladder, digestion, respiratory, five senses, cardiovascular, endocrine, metabolism, diabetes, gynecology, andrology, neurology, psychiatry, and dermatology.
Imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching "A good doctor is like a mother", the team of doctors and medical staff at Tho Xuan Duong always treat patients as their own relatives.
With their pure hearts and social responsibilities, the staff and generations of doctors today have been writing the glorious history of the oldest pharmacy in Vietnam, contributing to the overall development of traditional medicine - the pride of the Vietnamese people.
17 generations of family continuously making medicine, curing and saving people
Tho Xuan Duong Pharmacy has just solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate its 370th anniversary. The Vietnam Record Organization Council awarded the Golden Disk of Dedication and the badge from the World Record Institute (WorldMark) to the Record holder, Physician Phung Tuan Giang - Director of the Pharmacy.
Previously, Tho Xuan Duong was also recognized as the most traditional Oriental medicine pharmacy in Vietnam.
