According to data released at the third meeting of the Moldovan-EU Joint Committee on Research and Innovation held in Chisinau on October 26, Moldova has signed 51 grants under the Horizon-Europe Programme with a total value of 5.63 billion euros.

At the meeting, Deputy Director of the EU Research and Innovation Directorate for International Cooperation Anne Haglund-Morrissey called on Moldovan researchers to continue the trend of active participation and to respond to the calls and opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe Programme.
At the same time, the EU official also emphasized the support that the European Commission (EC) continues to provide to Moldova to increase its participation in the Program.
The Programme is not only a platform to access valuable European funds, but also a strategic opportunity to develop and strengthen Moldova's path to EU integration, said Adriana Cazacu, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova.
According to Ms. Cazacu, this year, the Moldova National Smart Specialization Program for 2024-2027, also known as Smart Moldova, was adopted, making Moldova the first Eastern Partner country to adopt such a document.
Moldova is an associate country of the Horizon Europe Programme. The programme provides opportunities to exchange European and international best practices, attract researchers, gain access to research infrastructure and address the challenges facing contemporary society.
