Weather highlights in January 2024
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in January 2024, the average temperature nationwide will generally be 1-2 degrees Celsius higher than the average of many years.
Compared to the average of many years, the total rainfall in the North and North Central regions is generally at approximately the same level, other regions are 5-15mm lower, Thua Thien Hue to Khanh Hoa is 20-40mm lower.
Also in the first month of 2024, cold air tends to be weaker than the average of many years in the same period, with fewer days of severe cold in the North. Severe cold is still likely to occur in the North and North Central regions but will not last for many days.

During the forecast period, cold air is likely to cause strong winds and large waves, affecting maritime and fishing activities of fishermen at sea.
In addition, frost and ice may appear in some places in the northern mountainous region, greatly affecting agricultural production and livestock raising activities.
The Central region may experience thunderstorms, localized moderate and heavy rain, along with the possibility of dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes and lightning, affecting production and people's activities.
From January 2024, the Central Highlands and the South will enter the dry season, with few signs of unseasonal rains. People need to use water resources economically and effectively.
