Delegate Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh ( Vinh Long ) spoke at the hall on the afternoon of June 16.

Expressing respect and pride for the contributions of the forces participating in the United Nations peacekeeping force, delegate Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh (Vinh Long) agreed to provide special regimes and policies to ensure the best benefits for those participating in this force, especially women.

However, Deputy Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh said that the policy for women in the draft law is not yet as preferential and encouraging as in many other countries. The Deputy suggested specifying and supplementing policies and regimes on working time, living, resting, vacation, rotation, etc. to help women balance between work and family.

Delegate Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh and many other Delegates also expressed agreement with the draft on adding civil servants and state officials (civilians) to participate in peacekeeping forces, but requested to clarify the standards for this group.

" The government needs to develop a specialized project on this issue," said Deputy Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh.

Agreeing with the need to enact the law, Deputy Nguyen Tao (Lam Dong) has a different opinion on sending civil servants and public employees to participate in peacekeeping forces.

The delegate said: "The practice is still the armed forces, except for some very special cases."

Agreeing with the proposal to stipulate better conditions for selecting good human resources to join the peacekeeping force, Deputy Nguyen Tam Hung (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) suggested specifying criteria and independent mechanisms to assess professional capacity for each type of job such as military medicine, engineering, experts, etc.

This, according to him, is to ensure that dispatched personnel operate effectively in an international combat environment with many non-traditional factors.

Delegate Nguyen Tam Hung suggested focusing on transitional regulations to avoid creating a policy gap between the present and the future; having a long-term health insurance policy for personnel working in areas with high health risks...

Sharing this view, Deputy Sung A Lenh (Ha Giang) also said that the criteria in the law are not clear. He stated: "The dispatched personnel need to be evaluated in terms of health, foreign language, professional qualifications, and political qualities."
