On August 30, German police said there was a knife attack on a bus that injured five people. The perpetrator, a 32-year-old woman, was arrested shortly after.

The incident occurred in the town of Siegen, western Germany. According to the police, there is no indication that this was a terrorist attack. Three of the five victims are in critical condition, one is seriously injured and the fifth is slightly injured.
According to information from German media agency DW , at the time of the attack, there were at least 40 people on the bus heading to a city festival.
Police are investigating the motive behind the incident, and have urged people to "not spread false information" on social media or other channels.
The incident comes after a knife attack that shocked Germany last week left three people dead and eight injured in the western city of Solingen.
The suspect in the attack was a 26-year-old Syrian man who had previously been deported to Bulgaria. His identity has sparked debate about Berlin's immigration and asylum policies.
On August 27, police also shot dead a man suspected of attacking passersby with a knife in the town of Moers near Solingen.
The attacks prompted Chancellor Olaf Scholz's government to announce new restrictions on carrying knives at public gatherings and long-distance transport, as well as curbs on welfare benefits for some illegal migrants.
