On the evening of September 11, the Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge, crossing the Ninh Co River connecting Nghia Hung and Truc Ninh districts, had its cable broken, causing one end of the bridge to collapse.

According to initial information, the Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge's cable broke on the evening of September 11, causing one end of the bridge to fall into the river. Fortunately, when the Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge incident occurred, there were no vehicles or people passing by on the bridge.

After receiving information from the Ninh Cuong Pontoon Bridge Management Board, the leaders of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee directed departments, branches, and local authorities to promptly handle and fix the problem. However, the Ninh Co River is still flowing rapidly, so the fix is facing many difficulties.

Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge is located on National Highway 37B, crossing Ninh Co River, connecting Truc Ninh and Nghia Hung districts, playing an important role in ensuring safe and smooth traffic.

The bridge has 8 connected pontoons with a total length of 297m, a total width of 8.4m and a girder width of 3.5m. Vehicles passing through Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge are only allowed to have a maximum load of 10 tons and a height of less than 3.5m.

Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge management board said that the bridge was built more than 20 years ago, and every day thousands of vehicles pass through Ninh Cuong pontoon bridge.
