FPT Corporation and TR (Korea) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote AI applications in smart healthcare to manage chronic diseases.
Specifically, the two sides officially cooperated to research, develop and integrate Spirokit - TR's smart lung function measuring device applying artificial intelligence (AI) into FPT's personal chronic disease management system (Chronic Care Management System).
This is the premise, promising to open an advanced healthcare model for chronic disease management, supporting patients to proactively monitor their health at home accurately, while doctors can access real-time data remotely to provide more effective treatment regimens.
According to statistics, Vietnam currently has about 21% of the population suffering from chronic non-communicable diseases, of which the most common are cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In particular, air quality in large cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City is at an alarming level, significantly increasing the rate of respiratory diseases, typically COPD with the rate of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in our country being 10.3%, the highest in the Asia- Pacific region. Most patients are still being treated by direct periodic examination or self-treatment, causing many inconveniences for patients and becoming a great pressure on the health sector. The application of digital health technology to monitor and optimize the treatment of chronic diseases is increasingly becoming an urgent need, a major challenge for the Vietnamese health system.
With more than 36 years of accompanying the Government, businesses and organizations in all fields, FPT has developed and deployed digital solutions for many industries, including Healthcare . With the problem of chronic disease management, FPT experts are researching and developing a management software system specifically for chronic diseases, designed to help patients proactively detect and monitor their health at home, connecting vital signs measuring devices with applications on the phone. At the same time, information will be continuously synchronized with medical facilities to closely connect with the medical team, helping doctors monitor, propose personalized care plans as well as handle special situations promptly.
TR is a Korean digital healthcare company specializing in the development and production of medical devices based on artificial intelligence (AI). TR has been selected by the Korean Government to carry out many important projects such as the project of the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises & Startups, the Ministry of Science & ICT, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs... Spirokit is a product that TR has researched and developed for many years, supporting the early detection of respiratory diseases, typically chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with high accuracy, compact design and the ability to automatically connect to digital health systems, helping patients easily proactively monitor their health status at home.
The cooperation between FPT and TR is a step towards providing a comprehensive solution, providing suitable medical equipment options for people to monitor their illness at home, helping FPT's Chronic Disease Management System maximize its effectiveness, creating a comprehensive treatment support platform, and a bridge between patients and hospitals.
