On the afternoon of July 29, in Hanoi, the Department of People's Public Security Communications, Ministry of Public Security - Standing Organizing Committee of the National Press Award on the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" for the period 2023-2025 held a meeting of the Steering Committee, Organizing Committee and Final Jury to prepare for the award ceremony on August 13.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Final Jury; journalist Vu Viet Trang, General Director of Vietnam News Agency; journalist Pham Manh Hung, Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam ; journalist Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine attended the meeting.
On behalf of the People's Public Security Communications Department, there were Major General Do Trieu Phong, Director of the People's Public Security Communications Department, Head of the Organizing Committee; Major General Pham Quang Khai, Deputy Director of the People's Public Security Communications Department, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Public Security Newspaper. Also attending the meeting were members of the Final Jury.
The National Press Award on the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" for the period 2023-2025 is organized by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association . This is an activity towards the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
At the meeting, the Secretariat reported an overview of the entries, preliminary judging results and summarized the selection results of the Final Jury.
The Organizing Committee received nearly 1,300 entries. Through the preliminary screening and initial classification (filtering out invalid entries), the Secretariat has compiled a list of 1,143 entries in print, electronic, radio, television, and photojournalism categories for the preliminary round, a three-fold increase compared to the previous season.
According to the Jury, the quality of the entries this time has been significantly improved and is quite even. Many of the entries are carefully invested, methodical, creative, and in line with modern media trends, including many entries from local press agencies and propaganda teams of the Public Security of provinces and cities.
The Preliminary Council recommends that the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee expand the award structure and increase the number of works selected for the final round, to promptly encourage and motivate quality authors and works to participate in the competition, in order to widely spread the award.
The Organizing Committee increased the award structure, including 6 A prizes (increased by 1 prize); 12 B prizes (increased by 2 prizes); 19 C prizes (increased by 4 prizes); 35 Encouragement prizes (increased by 10 prizes); increased the number of works entering the final round from 140 works to 152 works (increased by 12 works compared to the Judging Regulations).
To encourage the authors and quality works selected for the final round, the Organizing Committee will award a Certificate along with a cash bonus of 2 million VND/work.
Currently, the award ceremony is being actively implemented and carefully prepared by the Organizing Committee to have the most professional and impressive award program.
Major General Do Trieu Phong, Director of the People's Public Security Communications Department and Head of the Organizing Committee of the award, suggested that after the award ceremony, the winning works continue to be spread more widely among the people.
The Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award requested the Final Jury to discuss carefully and select the most worthy works to award the prize.
The closing and award ceremony is expected to be held on August 13 at Ho Guom Theater, broadcast live on VTV1, Vietnam Television, rebroadcast on ANTV, People's Police Television and digital platforms of press agencies.../.
