According to information from the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Ha Tinh , up to now, the whole province has nearly 30,000 hectares of summer-autumn rice that has bloomed.
More than 7,200 hectares of summer-autumn rice in Can Loc district have bloomed.
Although the summer-autumn crop this year has had many severe heat waves, thanks to the strict adherence to the concentrated planting schedule and proactive water regulation in localities, the rice plants have grown relatively evenly. The rains in July have also provided valuable nutrients for the plants to grow and set rice grains smoothly.
To date, the whole province has nearly 30,000 hectares of summer-autumn rice that has flowered, accounting for more than 65.3% of the total cultivated area. Farmers focus on pest control at the end of the season
This is an important stage of summer-autumn rice, determining the yield and quality at harvest. However, some pests that mainly cause damage at the end of the season have also appeared in many fields.
Accordingly, the third generation of small leaf rollers causes damage to rice, especially to the functional leaves, especially the rice crop after August 20, 2023; rats cause damage to areas near villages and hills; brown spot disease continues to develop, especially in densely planted fields with excess nitrogen fertilization.
Therefore, farmers need to visit the fields regularly, maintain appropriate water levels; closely monitor the development of small leaf rollers to proactively prevent and limit white leaf pests that affect growth; at the same time, consider the development of brown planthoppers, white-backed planthoppers, and brown planthoppers...
Ha Tinh Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection has also sent staff directly to the grassroots to guide and advise farmers on timely prevention measures to minimize damage caused by pests and diseases.
