On the morning of June 29, the 18th Becamex Group Community Football Tournament - Becamex Group Cup 2025 opened in Binh Duong .
This year, the tournament was renamed from its original name of New City Football Tournament - Becamex IDC Cup, which was established in 2006. The tournament's renaming is expected by the organizers to be a new stage, a new step forward for the tournament to become stronger and stronger.
From a local grassroots playground, the tournament has grown to become the largest community football tournament for workers in the country.
This year’s tournament has a record number of 196 teams participating with nearly 5,000 amateur players from Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces and cities. The participating teams are divided into 4 qualifying round clusters to select the 16 strongest teams to participate in the Final Round.

After merging Binh Duong with Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , this biggest grassroots tournament in Binh Duong has an additional qualifying round at the Ho Chi Minh City stadium cluster (VSIP1 Industrial Park). In this stadium cluster, 4 teams will win tickets to the Final Round.
The qualifying round champion will receive 30 million VND in prize money. The final round champion will receive the Cup and 100 million VND in prize money.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh Huy - Deputy General Director of Becamex Group shared: "In the context of implementing the decision to merge Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, this is not only an administrative event but also opens up many new opportunities for connection, cultural - sports - community exchange between localities.
This community football tournament will have more conditions to develop strongly, becoming a meaningful meeting place for workers in the key economic region of the South."
VFF presents commemorative medals to 3 individuals in Binh Duong
At the opening ceremony, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) awarded the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Football" medal to three individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the cause of building and developing football in Binh Duong province.
Specifically, VFF awarded the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Football" medal to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex IDC), Mr. Vu Duc Thanh - Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial Football Federation, Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province.
