Domestic pepper prices are currently stable after two sessions of strong increases, indicating that the market is temporarily slowing down to wait for further signals from export activities and international fluctuations. According to many growers and traders, the current price is still considered quite good, especially when compared to the same period last year.
Some industry experts believe that pepper prices are likely to remain high next week, fluctuating between VND139,000 and VND140,000 per kilogram. If exports improve and domestic supply continues to decline, pepper prices could increase by VND1,000 to VND2,000 per kilogram, especially in key areas such as Dak Lak and Lam Dong.
However, the market still has potential risks, such as the recovery of pepper prices in Brazil and Indonesia or difficulties in export activities due to the VAT refund policy not being completely resolved. These factors may cause pepper prices to remain stable or slightly decrease in the near future.

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on August 2 (Hanoi time) as follows:

The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) believes that the recent decline in pepper exports to the US market may only be a temporary phenomenon, occurring in the context of the market adjusting before new tax policies are applied.
It is expected that from the fourth quarter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2026, import enterprises in the US will begin to increase orders to stock up for the peak consumption season, thereby opening up opportunities for recovery for Vietnamese pepper exports.
Vietnam has a certain tariff advantage over many competitors such as India, Sri Lanka and Brazil. Together with stable supply capacity, these factors help reinforce expectations that pepper exports to the US will grow again in the second half of 2025, especially when demand recovers and US businesses increase stockpiling.
In the early morning of August 1, 2025 (Vietnam time), the White House announced President Donald Trump's Executive Order on adjusting reciprocal taxes. Accordingly, the reciprocal tax rate on goods from Vietnam has been reduced from 46% to 20%. This rate is lower than the 25% rate that the US imposes on goods from India and is equivalent to that of Sri Lanka, but still higher than the 19% rate applied to countries in the region such as Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia. Brazil is the country subject to the highest tax rate of 50%, effective from August 6.
