Gold price today 1/12: World gold price slightly decreased

VTC NewsVTC News01/12/2024

Today, the domestic gold bar price did not fluctuate much and was stable at 85.8 million VND/tael. This is the first time this week that the gold price has remained stable.

The dollar strengthened in November on expectations of massive fiscal stimulus and tighter border controls from the Trump administration, which weakened gold’s appeal. However, global uncertainty, tensions in the Middle East and Ukraine, and low interest rates have kept gold safe.

Experts say that if high tariffs negatively impact economic growth, gold could benefit in the long term. Prolonged global instability continues to boost demand for gold as a safe haven.

Gold Price Forecast

According to experts, the world gold price from now until the end of the year may fluctuate in a slightly upward direction. The main reasons are due to factors such as the interest rate policy of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) and the traditional demand for gold in India and China during the New Year.

World predictions show that gold could peak at between $2,700 and $3,000 an ounce by 2025.

In Vietnam, gold prices are also affected by increased demand during the wedding season, when people use gold as gifts and jewelry. Therefore, experts predict that from now until the second quarter of 2025, gold prices are expected to continue to increase.
