Báo Dân ViệtBáo Dân Việt03/10/2024

On October 3, Mr. Le Van Thai, Principal of Buon Ma Thuot High School, said that the teachers whose names were on the list of receiving wrongly spent money pointed out by the Inspectorate of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, have returned about 50% of the amount (over 200 million VND).

Of these, the person who had the most money recovered was 46 million VND. Many people on the list of recipients have returned the money, but some teachers asked to pay in installments due to difficult circumstances.

Explaining the reason why the above amount has not been fully recovered, the school principal said that many teachers are applying to pay in installments due to difficult circumstances.

On the other hand, some teachers also said that they received money from the school, but now they have to pay it back, so they cannot handle it in time.

"The school spends this money because teachers list how many lessons they teach to the Professional Team and the Professional Team proposes to the accountant to synthesize, calculate and then submit to the superior for signature. This is a mistake that the staff department and the leader like me must take responsibility for," said Mr. Le Van Thai.

Previously as Dan Viet reported that on September 9, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province announced the inspection conclusion of Buon Ma Thuot High School, which pointed out many violations and many illegal revenues and expenditures.

The most prominent is the overspending and spending in violation of financial regulations, in which much money "fell" into the principal's pocket. The school also collected money from parents in violation of regulations.

Specifically, this school paid overtime to Principal Le Van Thai in violation of regulations with an amount of more than 43 million VND (school year 2021-2022 and school year 2022-2023).

In the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years, the school spent many amounts of state budget incorrectly and beyond the prescribed limits. The amount of incorrect and excessive spending was over 419 million VND.

In which, many expenses for Principal Le Van Thai are not in accordance with regulations.

The Inspectorate of the Department of Education and Training concluded that the main responsibility for the overspending and illegal spending lies with Mr. Le Van Thai - the school's account holder, Mr. Nguyen Canh Thap - the school's accountant; and the advice and recommendations of relevant professional departments.
