On May 29, Hau Giang Provincial Police announced that they had coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security's Professional Department to destroy a 560 billion VND gambling ring.
According to initial investigation, through the work of grasping the situation, the Criminal Police Department of Hau Giang Provincial Police discovered that in the area there were a number of people colluding with subjects in other provinces to organize a large-scale gambling ring (football betting, online cockfighting, lottery).

On May 29, the Criminal Police Department of Hau Giang Province Police took the lead, coordinating with the Department of Professional Affairs of the Ministry of Public Security to carry out an emergency detention order and an emergency search of 9 subjects in a gambling ring.
The investigation agency temporarily seized nearly 200 million VND in cash, many pieces of jewelry, 1 car, 10 motorbikes, 20 mobile phones, Ipads, laptops used for gambling, many ATM cards and books and papers recording betting calculations.

The subjects confessed to gambling through football betting sites such as Sbobet, Ibet888, online cockfighting site SV88, and organizing lottery trading. The initial gambling amount of the subjects was estimated at about 560 billion VND.
The specific identities of the suspects in this gambling ring have not been announced by the police.
