Hanoi: Cases not assigned enrollment quotas for grade 10 next year

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí06/02/2025

(Dan Tri) - The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just sent an official dispatch to high schools regarding determining enrollment targets for grade 10 in 2025.

Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) requires schools to determine enrollment targets for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year in accordance with regulations and submit a report to the Department before February 14.

One of the bases for determining enrollment targets is the physical facilities and teaching staff. Schools must detail this data in the report form.

Notably, the official dispatch of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training clearly stated that the cases that will not be assigned enrollment quotas for grade 10 this year include: schools that have not completed the legal basis for operating locations, have not ensured the school network planning as committed; schools that have not ensured fire prevention and fighting according to the conclusion of competent authorities; schools that have had disputes and complaints during operation, have not ensured the minimum teaching equipment according to the new program; schools that have not built an online enrollment information portal.

The Department also emphasized that private schools that enroll 10th graders without being assigned a quota or enrolling beyond their quota must take full responsibility before the law for enrolling students in violation of regulations.

For schools that have exceeded their enrollment quota last year, the Department of Education and Training will deduct enrollment quotas for the next school year.

Currently, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has not announced the third subject in the 2025 public 10th grade entrance exam. Three years ago, the Department organized exams in three subjects including math, literature and English.

The deadline for announcing the third subject as required by the Ministry of Education and Training is March 31. However, this year, the Ministry requires localities to announce it early to facilitate students in completing their studies and preparing well for the exam.
