Hanoi interested in promoting cooperation projects with Japan

At the meeting, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Takebe Tsutomu expressed his honor to come to Hanoi on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, and informed that the important goal of the visit is to continue to strengthen and develop the strategic cooperative relationship between Hanoi and Japanese partners and localities in the future.

Congratulating Hanoi on its achievements over the past 70 years with strong development milestones, Mr. Takebe Tsutomu believes that the capital will continue to make new strides in the future.

Regarding development cooperation activities, Mr. Takebe Tsutomu expressed his expectations for the development of Vietnam - Japan University (VJU), contributing to promoting bilateral relations between Vietnam and Japan.

“I believe that Vietnam-Japan University will continue to make its mark with outstanding achievements in the cooperative relationship between the two countries. Hopefully in the next 5-10 years, the school will become a leading educational center in Asia, attracting the world's elite,” said Mr. Takebe Tsutomu.

The Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Alliance also mentioned the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park project, expecting that Hanoi and Japan will cooperate more closely in the fields of science and technology, promoting sustainable development for both countries.

Besides, he also expressed his hope that upcoming Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange events in the city, including the Vietnam - Japan Festival (JVF) 2025, will receive support and facilitation from the city government.

This year's festival attracted more than 450,000 participants, said Takebe Tsutomu, who believes the number will be even larger in the upcoming event.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh highly appreciated Mr. Takebe Tsutomu's great contributions to the Vietnam - Japan relationship in general, and to the cooperation between Hanoi and Japanese partners and localities in particular, especially in the fields of education, science and culture.

Welcoming the proposals from the Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, the Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the Vietnam-Japan University as well as the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park are important projects for Hanoi as well as the whole country.

The head of the Hanoi People's Committee pledged that, in his position, he will continue to facilitate the above projects as well as cooperation activities in areas of mutual interest and strength such as education, high technology, cultural exchange - people-to-people exchange in the city, contributing to enhancing and further strengthening the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
