Responding to several media channels recently, coach Mano Polking advised Vietnamese players to step out of their comfort zone if we aim to reach the world arena.

The Brazilian-German coach who is leading the CAHN club said: “Vietnamese players are not inferior to Thai, Indonesian or Malaysian players. But what Vietnamese players lack is the mindset to dare to step out of their comfort zone.”

“For example, Brazilian players do not hesitate to play abroad as soon as they have the opportunity. They may face many difficulties at first, even psychological instability. However, these players have a clear goal of building a career, so they are ready to prove themselves.

Brazil is the world's leading exporter of players. Brazilian players are ready to go anywhere when they receive offers. They understand that if they do not leave, they will lose the opportunity to show their ability," coach Mano Polking added.

Coach Mano Polking is knowledgeable about Southeast Asian football. The German-Brazilian coach has worked for a long time in Thailand and Vietnam. Mr. Polking has also achieved many successes with football in the region, with two AFF Cup championships (2020 and 2022 with the Thai team) and a Vietnam National Cup (2024-2025 season, with CAHN Club).

Thanks to this understanding, Mr. Polking's comments are very valuable. This coach analyzed: "Many Vietnamese players are in a safe position in the domestic league. They receive very stable salaries, they are famous.

“They are idols of many fans, so they no longer have the motivation to try their hand in a new environment. Going abroad to play with these players becomes a risk that they do not dare to bet on,” the German-Brazilian coach added.

Finally, coach Mano Polking concluded: “Playing abroad is not a guarantee of success, but rather discovering your own limits. If you don’t try, you will never know your limits.”

"And if Vietnamese players only think about becoming stars in domestic tournaments, then the World Cup dream, the dream of reaching the world arena, will forever remain a dream," said coach Mano Polking.
