However, they could not realize their promotion dream, when they lost to the penultimate team of V-League 2024-2025 SHB Da Nang 0-2 in the play-off match at Thong Nhat Stadium on June 27.
Because Coach Huynh Quoc Anh's loan contract from SHB Da Nang Club ended. At the same time, wanting a better coach to continue to realize the ambition of promotion, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club contacted Coach Nguyen Viet Thang to invite him to lead the team in the 2025-2026 First Division.
Coach Viet Thang has a lot of coaching experience, having worked as the number 1 assistant to coach Philippe Troussier in the Vietnam national team.

This 44-year-old coach has excellently led Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club to win the 2024-2025 First Division Championship 3 rounds early, and won the right to play in the 2025-2026 V-League.
Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club’s achievements were even more impressive when they won the championship with an unbeaten record throughout the tournament (winning 19 matches and drawing 1 match). Including two victories of 1-0 and 3-0 against Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club.
Saying goodbye to Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club after the end of the season, Coach Viet Thang went to Japan to study the second phase of the professional coach training course (Pro license) of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) with 17 other coaches. Including Coach Huynh Quoc Anh.
After being contacted by Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club, Coach Viet Thang accepted. However, the official contract signing between the two will only be done after Coach Viet Thang finishes the second phase of the Pro Coach training course in Japan on July 21.
In addition to reaching an agreement with coach Viet Thang to realize the dream of promotion, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club has brought in 4 new players Minh Vuong, Le Van Son (Hoang Anh Gia Lai), Xuan Truong (Hong Linh Ha Tinh), Tran Quang Thinh (Nam Dinh) and will soon announce them in the near future.
