Activities of the 11th International Yoga Day - 2025 in Ben Tre

BDK.VN - On June 24, 2024, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province coordinated with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to organize the 11th International Yoga Day - 2025 in the province. Attending the event were Mr. Mahesh Chand Giri - Consul of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi, leaders of provincial departments. Along with trainers and about 250 people practicing Yoga in Ben Tre City.

At the event, there were Yoga performances by Yoga instructors and Yoga clubs in Ben Tre City. Yoga instructors also guided basic Yoga exercises for attendees.

Since the declaration of the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, International Yoga Day - Antarashtriya Yoga Divas is celebrated on June 21 (Summer Solstice) every year around the world to raise awareness about the benefits of practicing Yoga as well as spread love, kindness, unity and compassion towards each other.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi presented flowers to Mr. Mahesh Chand Giri - Indian Consul in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi said: "This is the second year Ben Tre province has coordinated to organize the International Yoga Day in the locality. It is not only organized for the purpose of cultural, sports and tourism exchange between India and Ben Tre province but also affirms the friendly relationship and solidarity between the people of the two countries. The event also contributes to promoting the image of the homeland, people of the Coconut Land - Ben Tre and the country of Vietnam to the people of India and international friends. Through that, we will expand cultural and sports exchange activities and cooperation in socio-economic development of the locality."

Expressing his joy at attending the International Yoga Day activities in Ben Tre province, Mr. Mahesh Chand Giri - Consul of India in Ho Chi Minh City said: “What moves me about Ben Tre is not only the rapid development of the Yoga movement but also the way Yoga here is always associated with humanity, community connection and the spirit of sharing. Each practice session, each club is formed not only for health but also for an ideal of living closely between people and nature, between individuals and the collective. We appreciate the proactive and creative spirit of the provincial leaders as well as the companionship of the people in the effort to develop the Yoga movement as well as create a unique image of Ben Tre as a land that nurtures a rich spiritual life and is open to world culture”.

In recent times, Yoga has become known and practiced by many people in Ben Tre province. In Ben Tre city, there are more than 20 facilities and clubs that organize regular practice and are increasingly expanding and gradually developing widely, attracting a large number of people to practice.
