Region 1 : Northern mountainous provinces (10 provinces): Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Yen Bai , Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La.
Region 2: provinces and cities in the Northern Delta and midlands (15 provinces and cities): Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Thai Binh , Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh.

Region 3: North Central provinces (06 provinces and cities): Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue city.
Northern Region 8: active duty soldiers stationed from Hue city and beyond of units A09, C01, C10, C11, K01, K02.
Students of the Cultural School register for the exam and participate in the selection process with candidates from the area that the local police send to the Cultural School.
In addition, the school recruits 100 Information Technology students under the cooperation program with Hanoi University of Science and Technology and 150 quotas for the second degree system.
