"Extremely productive" talks, US-India expand partnership in many areas

On September 21 (local time), Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had "extremely productive" talks with US President Joe Biden, in which the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on global issues, especially the Indo- Pacific region.

During the talks, President Biden stressed that the partnership between the two countries is now at an all-time high and that each meeting opens up new opportunities for cooperation, affirming that the US-India partnership is now stronger and more dynamic than ever. The two sides discussed enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

For his part, Prime Minister Modi affirmed that India and the US are building a Global Strategic Partnership, driven by shared values and similar interests. This meeting will not only help both sides identify new directions but also strengthen the deep ties between the two countries.

The two leaders also discussed global security issues, from the situation in Ukraine to challenges in the Indo- Pacific region, while emphasizing the need to maintain democracy and freedom.

The talks paved the way for expanding cooperation in the fields of technology, defense and clean energy.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the talks focused on expanding the partnership in various areas. A joint statement issued after the meeting highlighted that India and the US are working to advance their relationship to realise their ambitious agenda for global benefit.
