Delegates attending the meeting approved and commented on the draft master plan for implementing the APEC Conference and the film script announcing the APEC project in Phu Quoc.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Giang Thanh Khoa requested to create a video with the theme of Phu Quoc in the APEC 2027 green journey.
Accordingly, the video clip is 4-6 minutes long, with 5 main content parts, including: Introducing special images of Vietnam and Phu Quoc; introducing APEC 2027 and investment and development opportunities in Phu Quoc; announcing works and projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference; messages from the locality and community towards a green, clean, beautiful Phu Quoc, ensuring the environment, connecting investment; affirming that the APEC 2027 Conference connects visions, orients the future, and is a new symbol for Phu Quoc island.
Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa emphasized that the projects and works serving the APEC 2027 Conference are symbols of Phu Quoc's integration, modernity, and international standards. The key projects not only serve the short-term APEC event, but also serve the future as a breakthrough in the economic development of An Giang province in general and Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone in particular. In particular, they are to serve Phu Quoc to become a national marine economic center.
The Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee requested the implementing unit to proactively coordinate with the provincial departments, branches and sectors to soon complete the video clip to submit to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for comments; at the same time, continue to contribute comments on the overall project to implement the APEC Conference.

According to the report, An Giang province has proactively carried out the preparation work, basically according to the set schedule. Decisions have been issued to establish steering committees, support groups, sub-committees... to serve the preparation work for the APEC 2027 Conference. Further assignment of detailed plans and tasks in accordance with the requirements of the task and the current organizational context.
Regarding the implementation of work related to preparations for the APEC 2027 Conference, the People's Committee of An Giang province proposed that the Prime Minister consider and add two more projects: the coastal road investment project in the East of Phu Quoc Island (44km long, 60m wide, with a total estimated investment of VND 14,100 billion) and the coastal road project connecting An Thoi port (2.7km long, 30-60m wide, with a total estimated investment of VND 2,650 billion).
At the same time, it is allowed to apply a special mechanism in selecting investors for the urban metro line project, section 1 (total investment capital of VND 9,000 billion, invested in the form of PPP) to apply the form of selecting investors in special cases to shorten the project implementation time, and soon put it into service for the APEC Conference 2027.
Up to now, An Giang province has completed the selection of investors for the Phu Quoc International Airport expansion project with a total capital of nearly 22,000 billion VND, operating period of 70 years, implemented by Sun Airport Joint Stock Company.
The province has issued emergency orders for 9/10 projects; granted investor approval decisions for 3/11 projects. For the remaining 8 projects, the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board will select investors in special cases for 7/8 projects and the Department of Construction for 1/8 projects. The Department of Agriculture and Environment will preside over the appraisal of criteria on solid waste and wastewater treatment technology for waste and wastewater treatment plants.
Regarding construction material sources, the province has adjusted the planning, adding 2 mines to be filled from the sea. Planning to add mines at Mui Ong Doi and a new area with a reserve of 1.5 million m³. Utilizing soil excavated from large lakes such as Cua Can and Duong Dong 2 (total 10.6 million m³). Establishing 15 survey teams, making plans for compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance...
