With the theme “Blood to save lives is in our hearts”, after 3 days of campaigning, the program attracted more than 300 people in the 3 localities above to participate in emergency blood donation. The amount of donated blood collected was more than 250 units. This is the first emergency blood donation organized after the 2-level local government came into operation. At the program, the organizers presented 30 gifts to the first voluntary blood donors in this period.

According to the leader of the Red Cross Society, the current blood reserve situation at medical facilities in the province is at an alarming level, the amount of blood received at blood donation points has decreased sharply compared to previous months, while the demand for blood in hospitals has increased. The blood groups that are in greatest shortage are blood group O and blood group Rh-. The main reason for the shortage of donated blood is that this is the time when students are on summer vacation, so it is not possible to organize voluntary blood donation campaigns at universities and colleges; the steering committee for voluntary blood donation in communes and wards has not been established, so the mobilization work is difficult.

In the face of the above situation, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation has issued a letter calling on all cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, soldiers, people... to actively participate in voluntary blood donation. People can participate in mobile blood donation according to the schedule posted on the Khanh Hoa Provincial Red Cross Association's Fanpage: hoichuthapdokhanhhoa and website: hoichuthapdokhanhhoa.org.vn. Or donate blood at fixed blood donation reception points including: Khanh Hoa Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center (16 Hong Bang, Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province); Ninh Thuan General Hospital (Nguyen Van Cu Street, Ninh Chu Ward, Khanh Hoa Province).
