TPO - On the morning of July 6, in Vi Tan ward, Can Tho city (Vi Thanh city, old Hau Giang province), the 6th Mekong Delta Marathon 2025 took place, with the participation of more than 5,000 domestic and foreign athletes.

This year's race attracted more than 5,000 athletes participating in 4 distances: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km.

Mekong Delta Marathon is a race founded by the former Hau Giang province, first held in 2019. This is considered the largest running race in the Mekong Delta region.

As a result, athlete Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa finished first in the women's 42km distance with a time of 2 hours 59 minutes 24 seconds. In the men's 42km event, the champion was athlete Kiptoo Edwin Yebei (Kenya) with a time of 2 hours 32 minutes 44 seconds, this is the second consecutive time this runner has won this event at the tournament (in 2024 with a time of 2 hours 29 minutes 23 seconds).

In the women's 21km event, athlete Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan finished first with a time of 1 hour 25 minutes 58 seconds. Athlete Hoang Nguyen Thanh finished first in the men's 21km event with a time of 1 hour 14 minutes 55 seconds.
