According to the third quarter 2023 statistics of research firm Counterpoint Research, chip maker Hisilicon, a Huawei company, holds the 5th position with a 3% market share of mobile chipsets globally.

This is considered a milestone marking Huawei's impressive recovery, after years of struggling with component shortages due to US sanctions.

Huawei is building a secret semiconductor manufacturing network to bypass Washington's restrictions, backed by $30 billion in funding from the Chinese government, according to Bloomberg .

Huawei's position improved thanks to the success of products launched in 2023, starting with the Mate 60 series of smartphones. The mobile device is equipped with the Kiri 9000s processor and supports 5G, quickly becoming a fever in China.

Other Snapdragon-powered devices, including the Mate 5X foldable smartphone and MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet, also received positive reviews, further solidifying Huawei's position in the market.

Analysts predict Huawei's position will continue to be maintained with the release of the Nova 12 series, which is likely to feature Kirk processors.

Meanwhile, Qualcomm continues to top the list with a 40% market share, thanks to the widespread use of its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip in high-end flagship devices in China.

Ranked second is Apple with 31% market share, followed by MediaTek with 15% and Samsung with 7%.

Following Huawei's Hisilicon is Unisoc in 6th place with 2% market share and Google Tensor in 7th place with 1%.
